A great year of fishing on my favorite stream came to an abrupt end last week. I was not expecting the fish to spawn until later this month. Spent about an hour just watching them prepare to do the business. Another lesson learned.
Grateful to have met Jonathan and all of the Rainbow guys. It would have taken forever for me to understand fly fishing without them.
Early AM trips, loaner rods, screenshots of entry points for different creeks, tips that I would not really understand until at least a dozen more missed opportunities.
Home: Yangpyeong County
I knew that moving to Yangpyeong was going to be good for me, Sana, and Bori, but after I found the stream near our new home (thank you 신박사님), I began to really understand how much life outside of the city offered us.
Never going to forget my first cherry trout. Just 30 minutes from my front door. On the water with Sana and Bori to share the moment.
Best new gear of the season: car
Fishing without a car was tough. I loved the early morning bus rides and the overnight stays in small towns, but I needed my own wheels to really start fishing.
Some of the best moments of my year. I probably think most about that first "big one" I lost. Over 200 hours on the water, and I'm still looking for him.
Trophy wall for 2016
Learned so much this year. Just the beginning of my life as a fisher. Can't wait for next season.
